Ep. 43 - Getting Mentally Fit with Tonka Cascais

This week we are joined by, ProPilates founder, Tonka Cascais. Tonka is a true inspiration with solutions to improve your mental, physical and spiritual self.

 

Tonka Cascais is a classically trained Pilates instructor with a background in Neuroscience, Biomechanics, Human Anatomy, and Physiology, and is the creator of APX™ Method. Tonka Cascais is also the owner of ProPilates Studio in Fort Lauderdale, Florida which she opened in April of 2000.

Her Pilates career started in 1996 under the tutelage of Romana Krizanowska, who was Joseph Pilates’s assistant for over 50 years. In 2003 Tonka was appointed by Romana as a Teacher Trainer and was responsible for the training of new instructors in Florida. In 2010 Tonka Cascais started her training in Aerial Fitness which inspired the creation of her Aerial Pilates Exercise Method.

Tonka Cascais holds certifications from the American College of Sports Medicine, Classical Pilates and the Pilates Method Alliance, Muscle Activation Technique, and Neuromuscular Reflex Patterning as well as having completed 50 hours of human body dissection at the Medical School of the University of South Florida.

Today, Tonka uses her diverse knowledge to create life-changing and innovative programs and works with a variety of clients at ProPilates and all over the world with whom she shares her passion for helping people of all ages to live a healthy, productive, and purposeful life.

Ep. 42 - From Prison To Purpose with Ali

This is by far the most personal episode yet.

I invited Ali to come on sober Exposure to talk about the incredible divine way we came into each other’s life. Ali has such a unique story of inspiration and has touched my life in so ways you will only understand by listening to this episode. And of course, it’s not Jenn and Ali without a tribute to Taylor Hawkins and some Foo Fighter flashbacks.

Ep. 39 - Return to Happiness with Ryan John Phillips

This week on Sober Exposure we are joined by Ryan John Phillips. At 19 Ryan was introduced to the beginning of the B.C marijuana boom, and that perked his interest because of the large sums of wealth that could be accumulated in a short time. Hockey fell to the wayside and Ryan took his networking skills and used them by forming a smuggling ring that generated millions of dollars a year. His luck ran out after losing many associates to murder and substance abuse, he landed himself in a Federal Detention Center for over 500 days. Ryan learned a lot while incarcerated, most importantly how important our freedom is.

To kick off season 2 of Sober Exposure we are excited to have Richard Patrick of Filter joining us. Richard graced Nine Inch Nails and went on to form his band, Filter, which went on to top the charts with many of their hit songs.

But, with success, addiction reared its ugly head. Richard shares his journey from addicted rockstar to living a sober happy life with a 20th soberversary coming up later this year.
